In Q3 2025, UK economic activity barely increased (+0.1%), confirming the slowdown observed in Q2 (+0.3%) following a very dynamic start to the year (+0.7% in Q1 2025). Activity suffered, notably due to industrial production in the automotive sector being held back by the cyberattack on Jaguar Land Rover in September. However, the domestic demand that had underpinned activity in the previous two quarters remained buoyed up by investment and lost none of its vigour, contributing +0.5 points to growth. Household consumption accelerated slightly, although its growth rate remained weak (+0.2% after +0.1%), while public-sector consumption slowed after surging in Q2 (+0.4% after +1.3%). Total investment remained robust (+1.8% after +0.5%), driven by extremely vigorous household investment (+6.0% after +0.5%) and public investment boosted by infrastructure spending (+2.2% after +5.3%), while corporate investment continued to decline (-0.3% after -1.1%). To a lesser extent, foreign trade also contributed positively to GDP growth (+0.1 points): imports fell (-0.3%) and exports were virtually flat (-0.1%). However, this positive contribution was more than offset by a strong destocking trend, which subtracted -0.5 points from GDP growth...
