In accordance with European directives, production costs indices in construction are published in base and reference 100=2021 from 28 June 2024. All series in reference year 2015 are stopped and replaced by new series in base 2021. A correspondence table between the old and new series is available below. 06/20/2024 - Annual national accounts are rebased
The annual national accounts have switched to the 2020 base for long series (some series backcasted to 1948), which becomes the reference year for the series in volume terms. All series in 2014 base are stopped and replaced by new series in 2020 base. 05/31/2024 - Quaterly national accounts are rebased
The quaterly national accounts have switched to the 2020 base, which becomes the reference year for the series in volume terms. 05/31/2024 - Households' consumption expenditure on goods are rebased
Time series relative to household consumption in goods have switched to the base 2020 in the same time than all quarterly national accounts time series. The year 2020 hence becomes the reference year for the series in volume terms. All series in base 2014 are stopped and have been replaced by new series in base 2020. In accordance with European directives, services producer price indices are rebased and are now published in reference 100=2021 as of 05/31/2024. All series in reference 100=2015 are stopped and replaced by new series in base 2021. For “market price” series, usable for contract indexations, a specific correspondence table between old and new series is also available below. It holds “Idbank” identifier in base 2015, identifier in base 2021, title in base 2015 which is identical in base 2021 and the “connecting coefficient” that allows extending series in base 2015 beyond the last published value. In order to extend old series beyond final value, it is required to multiply the index of new series by the corresponding “connecting coefficient”.
03/29/2024 - The turnover index, the index of volume of sales in trade and the index of services production are rebased
In accordance with the European Business Statistics Regulation, the turnover index,
the index of volume of sales in trade and the index of
services production will use 2021 as reference year, starting from the publication
of the indices of January 2024.
The time series of the previous basis (base year 2015) are now interrupted and
fixed to their last values. A correspondence table between old
and new series is available below.
03/05/2024 - New base year for the industrial production index and the index of the production in volume in construction
In accordance with the European Business Statistics Regulation (EBS Regulation) and its Implementing Regulation, the Industrial Production Index (IPI) and the Index of Production in Construction (IPVC) are now disseminated with reference 100 in 2021. All series in reference year 2015 released through the web page “Retrieve indices and time series (BDM)” of the Insee website have been stopped and replaced by new series in reference year 2021. A correspondance table between the old and new series is available below.
02/29/2024 - From now on, agricultural price indexes are disseminated in base and reference year 2020=100
The base and reference year of the index of the price of agricultural outputs (index of producer prices of agricultural products, IPPAP) and inputs (indices of purchase prices of the means of agricultural production, IPAMPA) are changing in accordance with European directives. They are now published in base and reference 100 in 2020. The series in base and reference 100 in 2015 are stopped in December 2023, month of their last dissemination. Two correspondence tables between old and new series are available below. It holds “Idbank” identifier in base 2020, title (in French) and “Idbank” in base 2015.

02/23/2022 - Redesign of enterprise births calculation
Starting with the release of the Informations Rapides outlining the results for January
2022, enterprise births
have been calculated according to a revised scheme. This new method of calculation
broadens the scope of companies taken
into account, with the aim of better covering the scope of business statistics.
This results in particular in an increase
in the level of business creation.
All the series have been recalculated on this new scope since January 2012.
Backcasting of the national sectorial series has been carried out since 2000.
The series of enterprises births calculated
according to the previous method have been stopped, but remain available. A
correspondence table between old and new series
is available below.

02/11/2022 - Revision of the series concerning hotels from January 1st, 2019
Collective tourist accommodation occupancy survey
As of January 2020 for outdoor accomodations and for Other Short-Stay Accomodations (OSSA), missing data for non-sampled or non-responding accomodations are imputed according to a new method, using econometric models based on the characteristics of the accomodations. This new method of non-response imputation leads to slightly reduce the total number of overnight stays, but has no impact on quarterly trends. In order to be able to calculate any evolution with newly calculated data, Insee has recalculated 2019 data. These backcast series are used in the Information Rapid publications from the 2019 first quarter.
07/11/2019 - Revision of the series concerning hotels from January 1st, 2019
Collective tourist accommodation occupancy survey
As of January 2019, missing data for non-sampled or non-responding hotels are imputed
according to a new method, using econometric models based on the characteristics of
the hotels.
The characteristics are defined according to the most important criteria explanations
of tourist attendance (previous period's response, ranking, size, type of management,
geographical area).
To compare the 2019 data with previous years, INSEE retropolated the data on hotels
over the period 2011 to 2018. These backcast series are used in the Information Rapid
publications from the first quarter of 2019.
This new method of imputing non-response tends to slightly reduce the total number
of overnight stays, but has no impact on quarterly trends.
Revision of the serie concerning hotels: the correspondance table has been enriched
the April 24th, 2020.
06/14/2019 - The Labour Cost Index is rebased
In June 2019 the Labour cost index is rebased and is now published in reference 100=2016. All series in reference 100=2012 are stopped and replaced by new series in base 2016. 05/15/2019 - Correction of the national accounts correspondance table
The correspondance table put online in june 2018 (when the national accounts have been published a new 2014 benchmark revision) included series without values. This new version is consistent with the series actually online.
04/26/2019 - Change in the frequency of job seekers' data
As from April 2019, job seekers' data disseminated will become quarterly. Until now, the dissemination was monthly. You should find below a correspondence table between old and new series.
03/23/2019 - The general government Maastricht debt are rebased
Since June 2018, the general government Maastricht debt have published a new 2014 benchmark revision. Series for the base period 2010 are stopped, and replaced by new series in base period 2014. 09/06/2018 - New methodology for the calculation of the Notaries-INSEE second-hand dwellings
The Notaries-INSEE second-hand dwellings prices indices are now published in a new
version. Their elaboration is based on a revised and improved method of calculation.
The scope has been extended to the overseas departments and is now France (excluding
Mayotte). This new method is applied from the revised publication of Q1 2018. The
reference is from now on the average in 2015 (against T1 2010 until the publication
of T1 2018).
All the data based on T1 2010 have been stopped and replaced by new data based
on average 2015. You should find below a correspondence table between old and new

02/26/2016 - Producer price indices of French industry: new series for Electricity
Since January 1st 2016, the regulated electricity selling prices have been removed for the consumers subscribing high power (more than 36 kVA). This measure is linked to the legislative frameworks adopted with the opening of the electricity market to competition since 2000.
These evolutions lead INSEE to create new Electricity producer price indices for the french market and to revamp their dissemination.

02/12/2016 - Consumer price index: new series 2015=100
On February 18, all consumer price indices will be disseminated in base 2015. The 1998=100 series will not be updated anymore and will be replaced by new ones.

01/15/2015 - Connection between old and new Building indices (BT), Civil Engineering (TP) indices and various indices for construction
Producer cost indices for construction of October 2014, which have been published on 15th of January 2015, have shifted at same time to base 2010. Current Building indices (BT), Civil Engineering indices (TP) and various indices for construction have then been stopped, but, as for any rebasing, INSEE systematically proposes a “corresponding series” in front of each “stopped series”, and clarifies hereafter the rules for connexion (pdf file).
