The main users of the CIS survey are researchers, consultants and managers (public/private). The survey results are used for studies and technology watch.

The main data consulted are: product innovations, proportion of innovative companies by sector of activity and factors explaining the absence of innovation.

A consultation committee, made up of experts and representatives of public policies concerned with innovation issues, as well as representatives of professional organizations and employee unions, met to help design the questionnaire.

A satisfaction survey was conducted on the CIS survey in August/September 2020. The main results are available on Insee.fr.

Users (researchers, administration, business representatives, trade unions, etc.) are invited to a consultation committee every 2 years, i.e. before each survey. The purpose of this committee is to gather user needs and discuss questionnaire proposals when changes are envisaged. The last consultation committee took place on July 2, 2024.

Lastly, a user committee is held from time to time to discuss ongoing studies using the CIS survey and requirements for future projects.
