In addition to cyclical events affecting a specific cohort, the introduction of the micro-entrepreneur scheme in 2008 had an impact on the survey protocol from the 2010 cohort onwards. Subsequent increases in the sales ceilings governing access also impacted the structure of the micro-entrepreneur population, as well as that of conventional businesses.

However, these changes do not justify the designation of a break in series, and the cohorts are comparable.
