In February 2026, producer prices in the French industry fell back by 1.2% (after +1.1% in January and +0.3% in December 2025). Producer prices fell back slightly for products sold on the home market (-0.2% after +0.5% in January) and more sharply for those intended for foreign markets (-3.8% after +2.9% in January). Over a year, French industrial producer prices continued to decline (-3.1% after -1.9% in January).
Excluding energy in the broad sense (hydrocarbons, refined petroleum products, electricity, etc.), producer prices in the French industry were virtually stable over a month (+0.1% after +0.4% in January) and also over a year (+0.1% after +0.2% in January).

Producer prices in the French industry: -1.2%
In February 2026, producer prices in the French industry fell back by 1.2% (after +1.1% in January and +0.3% in December 2025). Producer prices fell back slightly for products sold on the home market (-0.2% after +0.5% in January) and more sharply for those intended for foreign markets (-3.8% after +2.9% in January). Prices for mining and quarrying products, energy and water decreased anew (-1.7% after +1.0% in January), while those for manufactured products continued to rise (+0.4% after +0.3% in January). Over a year, producer prices in the French industry for the home market continued to decline (-2.4% after -2.3% in January).
Fall in prices of mining and quarrying products, energy and water and in those of food and beverages
In February 2026, prices for mining and quarrying products, energy and water fell back (-1.7% after +1.0% in January), driven by lower electricity prices (-4.0% after +1.5%), mainly due to favourable weather conditions. Over a year, prices of mining and quarrying products, energy and water decreased for the twenty-seventh consecutive month (-8.5% after -7.8%).
The decline in food and beverages prices eased over a month (-0.2% after -0.5% in January), and these prices slowed over a year (+0.8% after +1.5%).
Virtual stability in prices of “other industrial products” and stability in those of electronic equipment and machinery
Prices of “other industrial products” were virtually stable over a month (+0.1% after +0.6% in January): the fall in prices of “other printing services” (-2.7% after +0.3%) was offset by the rise in those of repair services of machinery (+0.6% after +0.2%), due to labour costs. Over a year, prices of “other industrial products” slowed (+0.4% after +0.8% in January).
Prices of electronic equipment and machinery were stable over a month (after +0.9% in January). Over a year, those prices continued to rise (+0.4% as in January).

Prices for refined petroleum products accelerated sharply over a month (+10.0% after +0.4% in January and -11.7% in December 2025), in line with higher world oil prices in February. Over a year, the decline in prices of refined petroleum products eased (-10.2% after -20.6% in January).
Slowdown in prices of transport equipment
Prices of transport equipment slowed over a month (+0.2% after +0.4% in January) and accelerated slightly over a year (+0.7% after +0.5% in January).

FOREIGN MARKETS: -3.8%
In February 2026, prices of French industrial products intended for foreign markets fell back over a month (-3.8% after +2.9% in January). Prices for manufactured products slowed (+0.2% after +0.5% in January), while those for mining and quarrying products, energy and water fell sharply after having risen strongly in January.
Transport equipment prices fell back slightly over a month (-0.2% after +0.5% in January).
Prices of electronic equipment and machinery were virtually stable over a month (-0.1% after +0.4% in January).
Prices for food and beverages were stable over a month (after -0.8% in January): the acceleration in prices of “other processed and preserved fruit and vegetables” (+3.3% after +1.3%) was offset by the fall in those of prepared feeds for farm animals (-4.4% after +2.4%).
Prices for refined petroleum products accelerated over a month (+5.0% after +0.5% in January and -8.7% in December 2025).
Prices of “other industrial products” slowed in February (+0.3% after +0.9%).
Over a year, the decline in industrial producer prices for foreign markets intensified (-5.4% after -1.2% in January).

Import prices of industrial products: stability
In February 2026, import prices for industrial products were stable (after +1.0%). Prices for manufactured products accelerated (+0.6% after +0.3% in January), while those of mining and quarrying products, energy and water fell back.
Prices for refined petroleum products accelerated sharply over a month (+10.7% after +1.2% in January).
Prices of “other industrial products” were stable over a month (after +0.6% in January).
Prices of electronic equipment and machinery rebounded in February (+0.3% after -0.1% in January), driven by those of communication equipment (+2.5% after -2.0%).
Transport equipment prices were virtually stable in February (-0.1% after +0.2% in January).
Finally, the decline in food and beverages prices eased over a month (-0.2% after -0.8% in January).
Over a year, import prices for industrial products continued to decline (-3.8% after -3.7% in January).
