The balance of opinion on order books has continued to increase
In February 2026, the balance of opinion relating to the level of building construction managers' order books has continued its recovery initiated in December 2025. However, it remains well below its long term-average.
The production capacity utilisation rate has decreased again
In February 2026, the production capacity utilisation rate has decreased again. It stands at 88,8% and has returned below its long-term average.
36% of companies report being at the limit of their production capacity (production bottlenecks), meaning that they would not be able to produce more with their current resources even if they received more orders. Down by one point, this share has moved closer to its long-term average (35%).
More business managers than the previous month report facing obstacles limiting their production: at 60%, this proportion has moved closer to its long-term average. As many contractors as in the previous month report facing insufficient demand (36%), a share standing above its long-term average. More of them than in the previous month report being unable to increase their production due to workforce shortages: at 24%, this proportion has rebounded after two consecutive months of decline, but remains below its long-term average.
The share of companies that report facing supply-side difficulties only has rebounded (24%), while the share that report facing demand-side difficulties only has fallen back (19%).
