In October 2025, producer prices in the French industry rebounded by 0.3% (after -0.3% in September and -0.4% in August). Producer prices were stable for products sold on the home market (after -0.1% in September) and rebounded sharply for those intended for foreign markets (+0.9% after -0.7% in September). Over a year, French industrial producer prices continued to decline (-1.2% after -0.5% in September).
Excluding energy in the broad sense (hydrocarbons, refined petroleum products, electricity, etc.), producer prices in the French industry were stable over a month (after -0.1% in September) and continued to increase over a year (+0.5% after +0.6% in September).

Producer prices in the French industry: +0.3%
In October 2025, producer prices in the French industry rebounded by 0.3% (after -0.3% in September and -0.4% in August). Producer prices were stable for products sold on the home market (after -0.1% in September) and rebounded sharply for those intended for foreign markets (+0.9% after -0.7% in September). Over a year, French industrial producer prices continued to decline (-1.2% after -0.5% in September).

HOME MARKET: stability

Prices for mining and quarrying products, energy, and water rebounded (+0.5% after -0.6% in September), while those for manufactured products were virtually stable (-0.1% after a stability in September). Over a year, producer prices in the French industry for the home market decreased by 0.8% (after +0.1% in September).
Rebound in prices of mining and quarrying products, energy and water and increase in those for transport equipment
In October 2025, prices for mining and quarrying products, energy, and water rebounded (+0.5% after -0.6% in September), following electricity prices on wholesale markets. Over a year, prices of mining and quarrying products, energy, and water declined for the twenty-third consecutive month (-6.8% after -4.9%).
Prices of transport equipment rose by 0.2% (after -0.1% in September), linked to a slight rebound in prices of motor vehicles (+0.3% after -0.2%). Over a year, prices of transport equipment continued to rise (+0.8% after +0.6% in September).
Downturn in prices of refined petroleum products
Prices for refined petroleum products pulled back over a month (-2.8% after +2.7% in September and -5.8% in August), following world oil prices. Over a year, the decline in prices of refined petroleum products intensified strongly (-9.5% after -0.4% in September).

Virtual stability in prices of food and beverages and stability in those of electronic equipment and machinery and in those of “other industrial products”
In October 2025, prices for food and beverages were virtually stable over a month (+0.1% after -0.1% in September). The rebound in prices of bread, fresh pastry goods and cakes (+1.7% after -0.2%), linked to higher cocoa prices, was offset by a further decrease in those of dairy and cheese products (-0.8% after -0.4%), due to a lower milk and butter prices. Over a year, prices for food and beverages continued to rise (+2.5% after +2.6%).
Prices of “other industrial products” were stable over a month (after -0.2% in September). The slight rebound in prices of repair services of machinery (+0.5% after -1.7%) was offset by a further decline in those of dyes and pigments (-8.0% after -1.4%), linked to the continued drop in antimony prices. Over a year, prices of “other industrial products” continued to increase (+0.6% after +0.8% in September).
Finally, prices of electronic equipment and machinery remained stable over a month (as in September) and continued to decline over a year (-0.4% after -0.7% in September).

FOREIGN MARKETS: +0.9%
In October 2025, industrial producer prices for foreign markets rebounded over a month (+0.9% after -0.7%). Prices for manufactured products were virtually stable (+0.1% after -0.2% in September), while those for mining and quarrying products, energy and water rebounded strongly, due to the important surge in spot electricity prices on wholesale markets.
Prices for refined petroleum products pulled back over a month (-2.0% after +1.8% in September and -3.6% in August), while those for transport equipment rebounded (+0.4% after -0.3% in September).
Prices of electronic equipment and machinery were virtually stable (+0.1% after a stability in September). The downturn in prices of other taps and valves (-1.9% after +1.2%) was offset by higher prices in electric motors, generators and transformers (+0.8% after a stability in September).
Prices for food and beverages were stable (after -0.2% in September): the rebound in prices of oils and fats (+2.4% after -1.5%), driven by higher rapeseed oil prices linked to biofuel orders, was offset by the decline in prices of prepared pet foods (-2.0% after a stability in September).
Finally, prices for “other industrial products” were stable as well (after -0.2% in September).
Over a year, the fall in industrial producer prices for foreign markets slowed down (-2.0% after -2.4% in September).

Import prices of industrial products: -0.2%
In October 2025, import prices for industrial products pulled back slightly (-0.2% after +0.3%). Prices for manufactured products were virtually stable (+0.1% as in September), and those of mining and quarrying products, energy and water decreased, due to a sharp downturn in liquefied natural gas prices.
Prices for food and beverages pulled back (-1.1% after +0.3% in September), driven by a further drop in those of dairy and cheese products (-3.4% after -0.7%) and by the downturn in those of processed and preserved meat (-1.9% after +1.2%).
Prices for refined petroleum products fell back over a month as well (-1.8% after +2.4% in September).
The rise in prices of “other industrial products” intensified (+0.6% after +0.1%), driven by a sharp rebound in those of other organic basic chemicals (+6.1% after -2.1% in September).
Prices for transport equipment were virtually stable (+0.1% after a stability in September).
Prices for electronic equipment and machinery were virtually stable as well (-0.1% after -0.2%).
Over a year, the decline in import prices for industrial products intensified (-2.1% after -1.4% in September).
