An error in the breakdown of overnight hotel stays has been detected and corrected. This has no impact on the total number of nights or on the other breakdowns.

Warning

Due to damage caused by the cyclone Chido, the tourism occupancy in short-stay accommodations survey has not been conducted in Mayotte area. Exceptionally, this quarter’s results therefore do not include the December data from the archipelago, whose weight is, however, very small.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, in France, occupancy in collective accommodations except campsites, measured in overnight stays, increased by 3.2% compared to its Q4 2023 level. This increase was more significant in holiday and other short-stay accommodations (HOSSA, +5.6%) than in hotels (+2.5%).

Attendance increased in high-endhotels

In the fourth quarter of 2024, hotel occupancy was 47.8 million overnight stays. It increased by 2.5% compared to its Q4 2023 level. Non resident customers’ attendance contributed more to this rise (+5.4% that is 830,000 additional overnight stays), while residents’ one increased more moderately (+1.0% that is 310,000 fewer overnight stays).
