The opinion on the past activity has degraded
In November 2023, building construction managers’ opinion about their activity over the past three months has deteriorated again: the corresponding balance has kept on dropping, dipping below its long term average. Regarding the evolution of their expected activity over the next three months, building managers’ opinion is almost stable and the associated balance of opinion remains just below its average.
Once again, more business managers than in the previous month have considered the evolution of their company situation to be unpredictable: the balance of opinion on the felt economic uncertainty has kept on growing.

The proportion of those reporting supply difficulties has gone back slightly (5%), moving below its average for the first time since February 2021.
The share of companies that have reported to be at the limit of their production capacity (production bottlenecks), that is to say that they could not produce more with their current means if they were to receive more orders, is stable, standing well above its average. 23% of business managers considered themselves unable to increase their production in case of additional orders due to workforce shortage and 3% due to supply difficulties. Both proportions are also stable.
