In Q3 2018, buildings' maintenance and improvement work price index (IPEA) increased slightly by +0.2% (after +0.4% in Q2 2018). Prices rose, in particular in plumbing, heat and air-conditioning installation (+0.5% after +0.6%), in plastering (+0.3% after +0.2%), in joinery installation (+0.3% after a stability) and in the other specialised construction activities (+0.3% after +0.1%). Conversely, prices fell back in electrical installation (−0.4% after +1.0%). They slowed down in roofing (stability after +0.7%) and in painting and glazing (+0.2% after +0.4%).
Over a quarter, prices rose in the non-residential sector (+0.3% after +0.7%) and remain almost stable in the residential sector (+0.1% after +0.2%).
Over a year, buildings' maintenance and improvement work prices increased by 1.5% (after +1.4%). Prices accelerated in plumbing, heat and air-conditioning installation (+2.3% after +1.7%); they slowed down in particular in roofing (+2.3% after +3.1%) and in plastering (+1.4% after +2.1%).
Over a year, price increase is more dynamic in the residential sector (+2.0%) than in the non-residential sector (+1.1%).
Revisions
The evolution in the IPEA price index between the first quarter and the second quarter of 2018 has been revised upward by 0.1 points to +0.4%.
