Services Producer Price Indices : some slight increases in the second quarter 2011 Services producer price indices - 2nd quarter 2011

Altogether, B to B services prices of the second quarter 2011 were relatively stable. However, some prices pursued their increase this quarter. It is the case of the employment services, the legal services, the management consultancy, the architecture-engineering and the rental of construction equipment. But telecommunications services fell again.

Stability, except for telecoms

Prices of telecommunications services fell in the first quarter (-2.3 %), that made a 4.8 % decrease in one year. The prices of computer programming and consultancy and those of computer facilities management services were stable.

Employment services

Prices still increased

Prices of employment placement agencies services and temporary employment services increased by 1.2 % on a quarter. Over one year, they gained 2.7 %.

Advertising and market studies

Advertising prices stabilized

After a continuous decline registered since 2008 (-0.7 % in one year), the advertising prices seemed to stabilize (+0.1 %) for these last three quarters. But the prices of market research and polling services confirmed their decline this quarter (-1.1 %); in one year they decreased by 1.5 %.
