In June 2011, the turnover rose in the retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+1.1 %) after a decrease (–1.4 %) in May 2011. It also increased in household services (+0.5 %) whereas it bounced back in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–2.6 %) and, to a lesser extent, in accommodation and food service activities (–0.4 %).
Every index in this issue is in volume, seasonally and working-day adjusted.
In June 2011, the turnover rose in the retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+1.1 %) after a decrease (–1.4 %) in May 2011. It also increased in household services (+0.5 %) whereas it bounced back in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–2.6 %) and, to a lesser extent, in accommodation and food service activities (–0.4 %).
Quarter on quarter (q-o-q), the turnover grew in the in accommodation and food service activities (+0.8 %). It noticeably declined in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–3.0 %) whereas it slightly weakened in the retail trade (–0.3 %) and in household services (–0.2 %).
Year on year (y-o-y), the turnover expanded in the retail trade (+2.8 %), in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+2.7 %), in accommodation and food services activities (+1.6 %) and in households services (+0.8 %).
According to our estimate, the turnover in the retail trade is expected to rise in July 2011 (+0.6 %).

Revisions
The SA-WDA evolution in May has been revised by +0.6 point in household services. The variation, initially announced at +1.3 %, has been corrected at +1.9 %. In the same period, the SA-WDA evolution has been revised by +0.2 point in accommodation and food service activities, by –0.2 point in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles and by +0.1 point in the retail trade.
