In March 2011, manufacturing output decreased in volume (-1.0%). It has increased in February 2011 (+0.9%).
In the industry, output decreased as well (-0.9%).
In the last three months, manufacturing output increased (+3.0%)…
In the last three months (quarter-on-quarter change), the output increased in the manufacturing sector (+3.0 %) and in the industry as a whole (+2.1%). The output increased in the “other manufacturing” (+3.1%, q-o-q) and in the manufacture of transport equipment (+3.1%) which was boosted by the end of scrappage bonus. It also increased in the electrical, electronic equipment and machine equipment (+2.4%) and in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+21.3%). In this branch, the output during the 2010’s last quarter was strongly disrupted by social movements in October.
…and exceeded it’s last year’s level by 6.3%
Manufacturing output rose by 6.3% (y-o-y). It soared in the “other manufacturing” (+6.6%), in the electrical and electronic equipment and machine equipment (+9.4%) and in the manufacture of transport equipment (+7.4%).
Please note: all the data are adjusted for seasonal variations (SA) and the number of working days (WDA).

Revisions : +0.11 point in February
In February 2011, manufacturing output increased by 0.9%
The raw series’ revisions especially apply to the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products, revised since 2010 to take a better observation of the non- industrials ordering parties.
The industrial production index is henceforth seasonal adjusted with the X12-ARIMA program and no longer with the TRAMO-SEATS program. This method may lead to revisions more important than usually.
