In May 2009, the number of enterprise births decreased (-2.2% month-on-month ; working-day and seasonally adjusted).

The amount of entries, added up March, April and May 2009 went up (+77.6%), compared to the same quarter one year before. The sectors that most contributed to that raise were service activities and wholesale and retail trade. It should be noted that since January 2009, enterprise births include those of self-managed enterprises to INSEE for the month, which is responsible for this dramatic increase.
