Statistical population

The enterprises surveyed are French units, which are active, commercial, and operating, with less than 10 persons employed (non salaried persons are included in the workforce), excluding the public sector (legal category starting with 7).

The ICT–VSE survey is not relevant for certain units with no economic activity and, most often, no employees. Consequently, the following units are excluded from the scope of the survey on the basis of their legal category (LC):

  • real estate civil company (SCI, LC 6540),

  • general partnership (SNC, LC 5202 and 5203),

  • economic interest grouping (GIE, LC 6210 and 6220),

  • civil partnership for shared services (SCM, LC 6589),

  • owners’ association (LC 91),

  • non-profit association under the 1901 law or similar (LC 92),

  • foundation (LC 93).
