The results are produced every year and make it possible to meet the needs of:

• Administrations and local authorities to adapt public facilities: (nursery facilities , hospitals, schools, sports facilities, transport, etc.) and prepare local policies;

• Public and private professionals fora better knowledge of the housing stock;

• Companies to have accurate data in order to better understand their potential market or the availability of labour force in a given geographical sector;

• Associations, particularly those working in the health, social, educational or cultural fields, in order to better act according to the needs of the population;

• Many other users: researchers, consultants, students, retirees, teachers, etc.

The National Census Evaluation Commission (CNERP) is responsible for evaluating the methods used to collect the information gathered during the census.

The order of 25 January 2024 appoints the qualified persons to the CNERP.

The CNIS thematic committees – in particular the Demography and Social Issues Committee and the Territories Committee – provide a forum for discussing new developments in the population census and changes to questionnaires relating to individuals or housing, in order to respond to requests for clarification on socio-demographic issues and compare them on a detailed spatial scale.

A survey on the dissemination of reference populations was conducted from 27 December 2018 to 11 January 2019 among Internet users visiting the reference populations pages of the insee.fr website.

A survey on the dissemination of statistical results of population census was conducted from 25 June 2019 to 24 July 2019 among Internet users visiting the census pages of the insee.fr website.
