In June 2026, output in services rebounded slightly (+0.2%), following a slight decline in May (-0.2%).

Over a month, output increased in services driven mainly by transportation and storage
In June 2026*, output rebounded sharply in transportation and storage (+2.6% after -1.8%). It also increased, albeit more moderately, in professional, scientific and technical activities (+0.8% after +0.5%) and in arts, entertainment and recreation (+1.3% after +0.5%).
Conversely, output declined again in information and communication (-1.3% after -0.6%) and fell back in real estate activities (-2.3% after +1.7%). It decreased in accommodation and food service activities (-0.4% after -0.1%) and was virtually stable in administrative and support service activities (-0.1% after -0.5%).

Output in services was up by 1.0% year on year
Output in the second quarter of 2026 was 1.0% higher than in the second quarter of 2025. It increased in a majority of sectors, particularly in professional, scientific and technical activities (+1.7%), information and communication (+2.0%) and real estate activities (+1.9%).
Conversely, output declined year on year in administrative and support service activities (-0.4%), as well as in arts, entertainment and recreation (-0.7%).
Revisions
Compared with the previous publication, the monthly change in the services production index for May 2026 remains unchanged at +0.2% (after rounding), while the change for April has been revised downwards significantly by 0.5 percentage points and now stands at 0.0%. This revision mainly reflects a revision to the price indices used to deflate output in the transportation and storage sector.
