In April 2026, output in services slowed down (+0.2% after +0.7% in March).
In April 2026, output in services slowed down (+0.2% after +0.7% in March).
Over a month, output in services increased slightly, driven notably by transportation and storage and by information-communication
In April 2026*, output accelerated in transportation and storage (+2.3% after +0.8%) and it bounced back in information-communication (+1.5% after ‑0.2%) and also in arts, entertainment and recreation (+1.7% after ‑2.9%). Furthermore, output increased slightly again in accommodation and food service activities (+0.3% after +0.2%).
Conversely, output fell back in professional, scientific and technical activities (‑1.7% after +1.7%) and in real estate activities (‑1.6% after +1.1%). Finally, it was virtually stable in administrative and support service activities (‑0.1% after +1.7%).

From February to April 2026, output in services was up by 1.5% compared with the same period one year earlier
Cumulative output from February to April 2026 was 1.5% higher than during the same period one year earlier. Output increased in most sectors, in particular in information-communication (+3.6%), in professional, scientific and technical activities (+1.7%), and in transportation and storage (+2.6%).
Output declined year on year only in arts, entertainment and recreation (‑1.1%).
Revisions
The monthly change in the services production index for March 2026 has been revised upwards by 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous release, and now stands at +0.7% (after rounding).
