Over a month, output in services rose in most major sectors
In March 2026*, output bounced back in professional, scientific and technical activities (+1.8% after ‑0.6%), administrative and support service activities (+1.0% after ‑0.7%), real estate activities (+0.7% after ‑0.5%) and more moderately in accommodation and food service activities (+0.2% after ‑0.7%). It slowed down in transportation and storage (+0.6% after +2.1%).
Conversely, output fell back in arts, entertainment and recreation (‑2.7% after +2.2%) and decreased in information and communication (‑0.3% after a stability in February).

In the first quarter 2026, output in services increased by 0.9% year on year
In the first quarter of 2026, output in services was 0.9% higher than that of the first quarter of 2025. It increased in most sectors, in particular in professional, scientific and technical activities (+2.2%) and in information and communication (+2.4%).
Conversely, output fell year on year in administrative and support service activities (‑1.2%) and in arts, entertainment and recreation (‑1.2%).
Revisions
The monthly change in the services production index for February 2026 has been revised upwards by 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous release, and now stands at +0.1% (after rounding).
