In January 2026, services output fell back (‑0.6%), after a sharp increase in December 2025 (+1.9%).
Starting next month, the « Informations Rapides » issues relating to the index of services output will be published around 50 days after the end of the month under review, instead of 60 days.

Over a month, output declined in most major sectors
In January 2026*, the decline in output was mainly driven by the marked downturn in transportation and storage (‑4.1% after +5.0%), and, to a lesser extent, in administrative and support service activities (‑1.3% after +0.5%), in professional, scientific and technical activities (‑0.4% after +2.1%), in arts, entertainment and recreation (‑1.3% after +4.9%), and in accommodation and food service activities (‑0.6% after +0.7%).
Conversely, output increased again in information and communication (+1.9% after +1.5%) and bounced back in real estate activities (+1.5% after ‑0.9%).

From November 2025 to January 2026, services output rose by 0.5% compared to the same period a year earlier
The cumulative output from November 2025 to January 2026 was 0.5% higher than in the same period a year earlier. It increased in most sectors, in particular in professional, scientific and technical activities (+0.9%), information and communication (+0.6%), accommodation and food service activities (+1.4%) and in real estate activities (+0.9%).
Conversely, output decreased year on year in administrative and support service activities (‑0.4%) and in arts, entertainment and recreation (‑1.0%).
Revisions
The monthly change in the services production index for December 2025 has been left unchanged compared to the previous release, remaining at +1.9% (after rounding).
