Informations rapidesIn Q4 2025, production costs in construction rose by 0.2% over a quarter and by 1.6% over a year Costs of production indices in construction - fourth quarter 2025

In Q4 2025, the production costs in construction rose by 0.2% over a quarter, after +0.5% in the previous quarter. They were almost stable in building construction (+0.1% after +0.5%): labour costs accelerated (+0.9% after +0.7%), while machinery for structural work costs fell back (-1.3% after +1.5%), as did miscellaneous costs (-0.8% after +1.0%), and materials costs fell after a near stability (-0.6% after -0.1%). Production costs in civil engineering fell after a near stability (-0.4% after +0.1%), driven by the downturn in machinery for public works costs (-0.6% after +0.6%) and by the further fall in materials costs (-2.2% after -0.9%). They slowed down in specialised construction works (+0.3% after +0.6%), due to the slowdown in machinery for finishing work costs (stability after +0.3%) and in renovation materials costs (+0.1% after +0.6%).

Year on year, the production costs in construction accelerated slightly (+1.6% after +1.5%). They accelerated slightly in specialised construction works (+1.9% after +1.8%), they rose in building construction at the same rate as in the previous quarter (+1.5%) and they slowed down in civil engineering (+0.2% after +0.5%).
