In December 2025, output in services rebounded sharply (+1.9%) after having fallen markedly in November (‑1.4%).

Over a month, services output increased in almost all sectors
In December 2025*, output growth was mainly driven by a rebound in transportation and storage (+5.1% after ‑2.2%), professional, scientific and technical activities (+2.0% after ‑2.2%), information and communication (+1.4% after ‑1.9%), and arts, entertainment and recreation (+4.2% after ‑3.2%). Output rebounded more moderately in administrative and support service activities (+0.6% after ‑0.4%) and slowed down in accommodation and food service activities (+0.4% after +0.8%).
Conversely, output declined slightly again in real estate activities (‑0.3% after ‑0.2%).

In the fourth quarter of 2025, services output was up by 1.0% compared to the same period a year earlier
In the fourth quarter of 2025, output in services was 1.0% higher than in the fourth quarter of 2024. It increased in almost all sectors, in particular in professional, scientific and technical activities (+1.5%), in transportation and storage (+1.1%), and in administrative and support service activities (+1.0%).
Conversely, output decreased year on year in arts, entertainment and recreation (‑0.8%).
Revisions
The monthly change in the services production index for November 2025 is unchanged compared to the previous release, remaining at ‑1.4% (after rounding).
