Warning

These provisional results are only preliminary data. Accordingly, they should not be used for contractual revaluations. The indices published here are based on a limited set of price observations and from estimates of some rates of change for fares which are not yet available. The complete results will be published on 15 January 2026.

Starting in January 2026 (with the publication of the provisional estimate on 3 February), the Consumer Price Index will change its reference year. The base year 100 will become 2025, in accordance with European regulation. This change of base will be accompanied by an update of the Ecoicop household consumption functions classification.

Over a year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) should rise by 0.8% in December 2025, after +0.9% in November, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month. The fall in inflation should be attributed to a more pronounced decrease in energy prices, mainly those of petroleum products. Conversely, food prices should accelerate, particularly due to those of fresh products. Prices of manufactured products should decrease at a slower pace than the previous month. Year on year, prices of services and tobacco should rise at the same rate as in November.

Over one month, consumer prices should rebound slightly by 0.1% in December 2025, after ‑0.2% in November. The increase in prices should be attributed to the seasonal rebound in prices of services, particularly in those of transport, and, to a lesser extent, to the slight rise in food prices. Conversely, the prices of energy should fall, as those of manufactured products. Tobacco prices should remain stable.

Year on year, the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices should rise by 0.7% in December 2025, after +0.8% in November. Over one month, it should rebound slightly by 0.1%, after ‑0.2% in the previous month.
