In Q3 2025, production costs in construction rose by 0.5% over a quarter and by 1.5%
over a year Costs of production indices in construction - third quarter 2025
In Q3 2025, the production costs in construction rose by 0.5% over a quarter, after +0.1% in the previous quarter. They accelerated in building construction (+0.5% after +0.3%), driven by the rebound in energy costs (+2.8% after -6.4%) and by the acceleration in machinery for structural work costs (+1.5% after +0.5%) and in miscellaneous costs (+1.0% after +0.4%). Production costs were almost stable in civil engineering (+0.1% after -0.8%): energy costs fell significantly less strongly than in previous quarter (-0.2% after -13.1%), machinery costs slowed down (+0.6% after +1.4%) and transport costs fell back (-0.2% after +1.6%). Conversely, they accelerated in specialised construction works (+0.6% after +0.3%), due to the rebound in machinery for finishing work costs (+0.3% after -0.3%) and to the acceleration in renovation materials costs (+0.5% after +0.3%).
Year on year, the production costs in construction accelerated slightly (+1.5% after +1.4%). They accelerated in building construction (+1.5% after +1.2%) and in specialised construction works (+1.8% after +1.5%), they rose in civil engineering at the same rate as in the previous quarter (+0.5%).
