In July 2025, consumer prices increased by 1.0% year on year Consumer price index - provisional results - July 2025
These provisional results are only preliminary data. Accordingly, they should not be used for contractual revaluations. The indices published here are based on a limited set of price observations and from estimates of some rates of change for fares which are not yet available. The complete results will be published on 14 August 2025.
Over a year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) should rise by 1.0% in July 2025, as in June, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month. Energy prices should fall at a faster pace than in the previous month, due to a base effect on gas prices (which had risen sharply in July 2024). Those of manufactured products should fall at the same rate as in June. Conversely, the prices of food and services should slightly accelerate.
Over one month, consumer prices should increase by 0.2% in July 2025, after +0.4% in June. This new increase in prices should be explained by the seasonal rise in prices of services, notably those of transport and accommodation, and, to a lesser extent, by an increase in energy prices. Conversely, prices of manufactured products should fall over a month due to the summer sales. Food and tobacco prices should be stable over a month.
Year on year, the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices should rise by 0.9% in July 2025, as in June. Over one month, it should increase by 0.3%, after +0.4% in the previous month.
