and repair of motor vehicles Monthly survey of retailing - July 2025
In July 2025, the business climate has retreated a little in retail trade and trade and repair of motor vehicles overall. At 98, the indicator that synthesizes it has lost one point and has moved away from its long-term average (100). This settling is mainly due to the slight deterioration in the balance related to ordering intentions.
Using an unchanged methodology, the monthly indicators of business climates in retail trade and trade of motor vehicles and its sub-sectors have been slightly revised in July 2025 to better reflect short-term dynamics. Moreover, the seasonal coefficients have also been updated, as usually at this time of the year. This has led to revisions in the set of results previously published from this survey. The revisions of coefficients are relatively modest and do not modify the outlook diagnosis. See the tab “Documentation” for more details.
