In March 2025, output in services increased slightly (+0.2%), after a virtual stability in February (‑0.1%).
In March 2025, output in services increased slightly (+0.2%), after a virtual stability in February (‑0.1%).
Over a month, output rose mainly due to information-communication and administrative and support service activities
In March 2025*, output rebounded in information and communication (+1.7% after ‑0.9%) and in administrative and support service activities (+1.1% after ‑0.7%). Output increased in almost all divisions of these two major sectors. It continued to grow in real estate activities (+1.0% after +1.3%) and slowed down markedly in transportation and storage activities (+0.2% after +1.1%). Conversely, it declined again in professional, scientific and technical activities (‑0.5% after ‑0.2%) and in accommodation and food service activities (‑0.6% after ‑1.3%), while it fell back in arts, entertainment and recreation (‑3.1% after +2.1%).

In the first quarter of 2025, services output was up by 3.3% compared to the same period a year earlier
Output in the first quarter of 2025 was 3.3% higher than in the same quarter of 2024. This increase was mainly driven by professional, scientific and technical activities (+5.1%) and transportation and storage activities (+5.1%). Output also increased year on year in information-communication (+2.7%), administrative and support service activities (+2.4%, despite a sharp fall in employment activities sector), real estate activities (+2.0%), arts, entertainment and recreation (+2.8%), and accommodation and food service activities (+0.4%).
Revisions
The monthly change in the services production index in February 2025 has been left unchanged compared to the previous release, remaining at ‑0.1% (after rounding).
