Monthly change: +0.6% in April; year-on-year change: +0.8%

In April 2025, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.6% over one month, after +0.2% in March. This rise in prices was mainly due to the increase in prices of services (+1.1% after a stability), driven by the strong rebound in those of transports (+10.2% after ‑2.8%), and a further rise in the prices of “other services” (+0.7% after +0.3%). The prices of food increased again over a month (+0.7% after +0.3%), those of manufactured products stalled (+0.1% after +1.1%), and those of energy fell for the third consecutive month (‑1.6% after ‑1.5%).

Seasonally adjusted, consumer prices increased by 0.3% in April 2025 after ‑0.2% in March.

Year on year, consumer prices went up by 0.8% in April 2025, as in March and in February. The fall in prices of energy (‑7.8% after ‑6.6%) was offset by the increase in prices of services (+2.4% after +2.3%) and food (+1.2% after +0.6%). The prices of manufactured products moved at the same pace as in March (‑0.2%), like those of tobacco (+4.1%).

Stability in core inflation year on year
