Warning

These provisional results are only preliminary data. Accordingly, they should not be used for contractual revaluations. The indices published here are based on a limited set of price observations and from estimates of some rates of change for fares which are not yet available. The complete results will be published on 15 May 2025.

Over a year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) should rise by 0.8% in April 2025, as in March, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month. The increasing fall in energy prices should be partly offset by the rebound in food prices. Prices of services and manufactured products should follow the same trend as last month.

Over one month, consumer prices should increase by 0.5% in April 2025 (after +0.2% in March). This new rise in prices should be explained by the increase in services prices, in particular transport, and food. Conversely, energy prices should fall again in April, while prices of manufactured products and tobacco should remain virtually unchanged over the month.

Year on year, the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices should rise by 0.8% in April 2025, after +0.9% in March. Over one month, it should rise by 0.6%, after +0.2% in the previous month.
