In January 2025, output in services increased (+0.3%), after being stable in December.
Over a month, output increased in the majority of sectors
In January 2025*, output bounced back in information-communication (+1.9% after ‑1.2%), professional, scientific and technical activities (+1.1% after ‑1.1%) and administrative and support service activities (+1.4% after ‑0.5%). Output increased slightly in accommodation and food service activities (+0.4% after ‑0.1%) and in arts, entertainment and recreation (+0.2% as in the previous month). On the contrary, it fell back sharply in transportation and storage (‑3.9% after +4.0%), and fell again in real estate activities (‑0.7% after ‑0.2%).

From November 2024 to January 2025, output in services was up by 3.0% compared to the same period a year earlier
Cumulative output from November 2024 to January 2025 was 3.0% higher than that of the same period a year earlier. This increase was mainly driven by professional, scientific and technical activities (+4.4%), transportation and storage (+4.2%), information-communication (+3.2%) and administrative and support service activities (+1.4%). Output also increased over one year in real estate activities (+1.7%), accommodation and food service activities (+2.4%) and arts, entertainment and recreation (+1.5%).
Revisions
The monthly change in the services production index in December 2024 has been revised downwards by 0.2 points compared to the previous release and stands now at 0.0% (after rounding).
