In March 2025, consumer prices increased by 0.8% year on year Consumer price index - provisional results - March 2025
These provisional results are only preliminary data. Accordingly, they should not be used for contractual revaluations. The indices published here are based on a limited set of price observations and from estimates of some rates of change for fares which are not yet available. The complete results will be published on 15 April 2025.
Over a year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) should rise by 0.8% in March 2025, as in February, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month. The acceleration in service prices, particularly insurance, and in food prices, especially fresh products, should be offset by the falls in the prices of energy and, to a lesser extent, in manufactured products. Those of tobacco should slow down slightly.
Over one month, consumer prices should increase by 0.2% in March 2025 (after being stable in February). This slight rise in prices should be mainly due to that of manufactured products, particularly clothing and footwear. The prices of services should slow down, while those of food should rebound slightly. Conversely, energy prices should fall again over the month.
Year on year, the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices should rise by 0.9% in March 2025, as in February. Over one month, it should rise by 0.2%, after +0,1% in the previous month.
