Warning

These provisional results are only preliminary data. Accordingly, they should not be used for contractual revaluations. The indices published here are based on a limited set of price observations and from estimates of some rates of change for fares which are not yet available. The complete results will be published on 18 February 2025.

Over a year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) should rise by 1.4% in January 2025, after 1.3% in December, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month. The rebound in prices of manufactured product and a further acceleration in those of energy should be partly offset by the slowdown in prices of service and tobacco. Over the year, the prices of food prices should remain virtually stable.

Over one month, consumer prices should decrease by 0.1% in January 2025 (after +0.2% in December). The slight downturn in prices should be explained by the seasonal fall in prices of manufactured products, generated by the winter clothing and footwear sales, and by the fall in prices of services (particularly transport), despite a further rise in insurance prices in January 2025. Conversely, energy, food and tobacco prices are expected to rise over the month.

Year on year, the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices should rise by 1.8% in January 2025, as in December. Over one month, it should fall by 0.2%, after +0.2% in the previous month.
