In June 2024, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets were almost stable (‑0.1% over a month, after +0.1% in May). In large and predominantly food stores, the prices were stable over a month, after being almost stable in May (+0.1%).

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, prices were also stable over a month, after being almost stable in May (+0.1%).

Considering all kinds of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods were almost stable over a month (‑0.1%, after +0.1% in May).

Year on year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased slightly for the first time in thirty-three months

Compared to those of the same month last year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased slightly for the first time since October 2021: ‑0.1% in June 2024, after +0.2% in May. In large and predominantly food stores, prices were stable year on year, after +0.3% in May.

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, the prices of frequently purchased goods increased by 1.2% year on year, after +1.7% in May.

Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods rose by 0.4% year on year, after +0.7% in May.

Year on year, food prices in hyper and supermarkets slowed down again

Month on month, the prices of food and beverages (excluding fresh produces) sold in hyper and supermarkets were stable in June 2024, after being almost stable in May (+0.1%). Year on year, these prices slowed down for the fourteenth consecutive month: they rose by 0.2% in June, after +0.5% in May.

The prices of meat sold in hyper and supermarkets were almost stable over one month (+0.1%), after being stable in May. Year on year, they decreased: ‑0.6%, after ‑0.7% in May.

The prices of beverages sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased: ‑0.3% in June, after +0.2% in May. Year on year, they slowed down: +0.4%, after +1.0% in May.

The prices of “other food products” were stable over one month, as in May. Year on year, they slowed down: +0.5%, after +0.7% in May.

Year on year, the prices of cleaning and personal care products decreased again

Month on month, the prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets were almost stable: ‑0.1% after +0.1% in May. Year on year, they decreased again: ‑1.9%, after ‑1.4% in May.
