In July 2023, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets increased by 0.3% over a month, after +0.2% in June. In large and predominantly food stores, these prices rose by 0.3% over a month, as in June.

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, prices rose by 0.3% over a month, after +0.4% in June.

Considering all kinds of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods increased by 0.2% over a month, after +0.3% in June.

Year on year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets slowed down for the third consecutive month

Compared to those of the same month last year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets slowed down for the third consecutive month: +12.5% in July 2023, after +13.8% in June, +14.6% in May and +15.1% in April. In large and predominantly food stores, prices rose by 12.6% year on year, after +13.8% in June.

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, the prices of frequently purchased goods increased by 13.4% year on year, after +14.2% in June.

Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods rose by 12.6% year on year, after +13.8% in June.

Year on year, food prices in hyper and supermarkets slowed down again

Month on month, the prices of food and beverages (excluding fresh produces) sold in hyper and supermarkets rose by 0.4% in July 2023, after +0.2% in June. Year on year, these prices slowed down for the third consecutive month: +13.1% in July, after +14.4% in June, +15.1% in May and +15.8% in April.

The prices of meat sold in hyper and supermarkets rose by 0.4% over a month, after being stable in June. Year on year, these prices slowed down: +11.3%, after +12.6% in June.

The prices of beverages sold in hyper and supermarkets rose by 0.4% over a month, after +0.3% in June. Year on year, they slowed down: +10.1%, after +10.8% in June.

The prices of “other food products” increased by 0.3% over a month, after +0.2% in June. Year on year, the prices of these products slowed down: +15.0%, after +16.6% in June.

Year on year, the prices of cleaning and personal care products slowed down again

Month on month, the prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets rose by 0.1% in July 2023, after +0.5% in June. Year on year, they increased by 9.4%, after +10.3% in June.
