In February 2020, the turnover in large-scale food retailing increased (+1.0%) after a stability in January. It rose in food products after a virtual stability (+1.5% after −0.1%), it kept decreasing in non-food products (−0.6% after −1.2%) and declined in automotive fuel (−1.3% after +0.1%).
Turnover recovered in supermarkets in February (+1.1% after −1.2%) whereas it increased again in hypermarkets (+0.6% after +0.9%).

Increase over the last three months (+0.7%)
Over the last three months (December 2019 to February 2020), the turnover in large-scale food retailing grew (+0.7%) compared to the previous three months. Sales rose in food products (+0.6%) and decreased in non-food products (−1.2%) and in automotive fuel (−0.4%).
Turnover grew in supermarkets (+0.9%) and in hypermarkets (+0.3%).
Slight increase over a year (+0.5%)
The turnover of the past three months in large-scale food retailing rose (+0.5%) compared to the same period one year earlier. Over that period, sales were virtually stable in food products (+0.1%) and decreased in non-food products (−3.1%). Sales increased in automotive fuel (+5.1%).
Year on year, sales rose in supermarkets (+1.5%) whereas they declined slightly in hypermarkets (−0.3%).
