In November 2018, output slipped backsharply in the manufacturing industry (−1.4% after +1.4% in October) as well as in the whole industry (−1.3% after +1.3%).
All series are seasonally (SA) and working-day adjusted (WDA).
The commentary shows variations of subsections by decreasing contribution. The contribution of a subsection depends on the extent of the change and on its weight.

- Over a year, manufacturing output diminished (−1.4%)
- In November, output slipped back in “other manufacturing” (−2.1% after +1.3%)
- Output slipped back in machinery and equipment goods (−2.0% after +3.8%)
- Output slipped back in mining and quarrying; energy; water supply (−0.9% after +0.3%)
- Output plummeted in petroleum and refined products (−10.6 % after −2.0%)
- Output kept growing in the manufacture of transport equipment (+1.2% after +0.6%)
- Output was virtually stable in the manufacture of food products and beverages (after +0.7%)

Over the last three months, output decreased sharply in the manufacture of transport equipment (−3.1%). It decreased in “other manufacturing” (−0.5%), in the manufacture of food products and beverages (−0.8%), in the manufacture of machinery and equipment goods (−0.7%) and in mining and quarrying, energy, water supply (−0.4%). It dimished sharply in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (−3.9%).

Over a year, manufacturing output diminished (−1.4%)
Manufacturing output of the last three months diminished compared to the same three months of 2017 (−1.4%), as well as in the whole industry (−1.2%).
Over a year, output diminished in most sectors. It went down in “other manufacturing” (−1.6%), in the manufacture of food products and beverages (−2.4%), in the manufacture of transport equipment (−1.1%), in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (−4.7%) and in mining and quarrying, energy, water supply (−0.2%). On the contrary, it increased slightly in the manufacture of machinery and equipment goods (+0.2%).

Output slipped back in chemicals (−3.2% after +0.2%), in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (−2.1% after +2.0%), in pharmaceuticals (−3.8% after +3.9%), in rubber and plastics products, and other non-metallic mineral products (−2,1 % after +0.3%), in other manufacturing, repair and installation of machinery and equipment (−0.7% after +0.3%), in wood, paper and printing industries (−1.6% after +0.9%) and in textiles, wearing apparel, leather and related products (−2.5% after +5.2%).
Output slipped back in machinery and equipment goods (−2.0% after +3.8%)
Output slipped back sharply in the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (–2.9% after +6.8%) and in that of computer, electronic and optical products (–2.0% after +1.0%). It decreased slightly in the manufacture of electrical equipment (–0.3% after +3.7%).

Output slipped back in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditionning supply (-0.7 % after +0.2%).
Output plummeted in petroleum and refined products (−10.6 % after −2.0%)
