In March 2018, the prices of frequently purchased goods in hyper and supermarkets and in large and predominantly food stores slightly increased over a month at the same pace as in the previous month (+0.1%).

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, the prices of frequently purchased goods increased by 0.2%, as in February.
Considering all the kinds of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods increased a little in March (+0.1%), as in February.
Year on year, slight slowdown in prices in hyper and supermarkets
Compared with the same month last year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets rose a little slower in March than in February (+0.8% year on year after +0.9%). On the other hand, prices In large and predominantly food stores grew by +0.9% year on year as in February.
In the other kinds of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods continued to rise more sharply than in large distributors: in March they accelerated to 2.0% year on year after 1.9% in the two previous months. It has been the largest increase since September 2013.
Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods rose at the same pace as in February (+1.0%).

New slight rise in food prices in hyper and supermarkets
In March 2018, the prices of food (excluding fresh products) sold in hyper and supermarkets increased by 0.1% as in February. Year on year, they slowed down: +1.0% after +1.1%.
This rise in prices over a month resulted from a slight rise in meat prices and other food products prices, while the prices of beverages were stable.
Meat prices decelerated in March after a marked rebound in the previous month (+0.1% after +0.5%). Year on year, they were slightly less dynamic as in the previous month: +1.4% after +1.5% in February.
The prices of beverages sold in hyper and supermarkets were stable in March again. Year on year, they slowed down (+0.2% after +0.4% in the previous month).
The prices of other food products (excluding fresh food) slightly increased in March (+0.1%) after three months of stability. Year on year, their increase was a little more pronounced than in February (+1.1% after +1.2%).
Stability in the prices of cleaning and personal care products in hyper and supermarkets
In March, the prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets were stable after a rise of 0.1% in February. Year on year, the prices of these products decreased at the same pace as in the previous month: −0.1%.
