In November 2017, the prices of frequently purchased goods in hyper and supermarkets and in large and predominantly food stores rose slightly over a month (+0.2%), after a stability in October.
In November 2017, the prices of frequently purchased goods in hyper and supermarkets and in large and predominantly food stores rose slightly over a month (+0.2%), after a stability in October.
Excluding hyper and supermarkets, prices slowed down a little (+0.1% after +0.2% in October).
Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods rose again by 0.2%, after a stability in October.
Year on year, prices accelerated again in hyper and supermarkets
Compared with the same month last year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets grew a little faster in November than in October (+0.9% after +0.8%). The same is true in large and predominantly food stores (+0.9% year on year after +0.8% in October).
In the other kinds of stores, the dynamic of prices of frequently purchased goods remained more marked than in large distributors: they rose by 1.8% year on year for the third consecutive month.
Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods rose at the same pace as in October: (+0.9%).

Over a month, rebound in food prices in hyper and supermarkets
In November 2017, the prices of food (excluding fresh products) sold in hyper and supermarkets recovered by 0.3% after two months of drop (+0.3% after (0.1% in October and September). Year on year, they rose a little more strongly than in October: +1.1% after +1.0%.
The rise in prices over a month resulted from a marked acceleration in meat prices, a slight increase in the prices of beverages and a rebound in other food product prices.
After a stability in October, meat prices increased sharply in November (+0.4%). Year on year, they slowed down: +1.4% after +1.6%.
The prices of beverages sold in hyper and supermarkets rose slightly in November (+0.1%) after a stability in October. Year on year, the prices grew by 0.5%, as in the three previous months.
In slight downturn in October (−0.1%), the prices of other food products (excluding fresh food) rebounded in November (+0.2%). Year on year, their increase was a little stronger than in the previous month (+1.1% after +1.0% in October).
Downturn in the prices of cleaning and personal care products in hyper and supermarkets
The prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets edged down in November (−0.2%) after a rebound in October (+0.2%). Year on year, the prices of these products decreased at the same pace as in the previous month: −0.2%.
