In February 2016, output fell back in the manufacturing industry (−0.9% after +0.4% in January), as well as in the industry as a whole (−1.0% after +1.0% in January).

Manufacturing output was virtually stable over the last three months (−0.1%)

Over the last three months, output was virtually stable in the manufacturing sector (−0.1% q-o-q), but diminished in the overall industry (−0.7%).

Output fell steeply in the mining and quarrying; energy; water supply; waste management (−4.5%) and in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment; machine equipment (−3.3%). It decreased more moderatly in the manufacture of food products and beverages (−1.0%) and tumbled in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (−8.2%). Conversely, it grew in other manufacturing (+0.9%) and in the manufacture of transport equipment (+1.2%).

Over one year, manufacturing output increased (+1.5%)

Manufacturing output of the last three months improved compared to the same months of the previous year (+1.5%, y-o-y). Overall industrial output also increased (+0.6% y-o-y).

Over the same period, manufacturing output grew markedly in other manufacturing (+2.0%) and in the manufacture of transport equipment (+2.1%). It went up more moderately in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.5%) and in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment (+0.3%). On the contrary, it dropped dramatically in mining and quarrying; energy; water supply; waste management (−5.2%) and in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (−5.8%).

Output fell back in the manufacture of other transport equipment (−6.2%) after a sharp rise in January (+11.6%). Conversely, it continued to grow in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (+2.6% after +2.8%).

Output faltered in mining and quarrying; energy; water supply; waste management (−1.6% after +5.0%)

Output shrank in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply (−1.4% after +6.5%) as well as in water supply and sanitation (−2.7% after −1.4%).

Output declined in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (−4.0% after +2.2%).

Output slipped back in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (−4.0%).

Output picked up in the electrical and electronic equipment; machine equipment (+1.2% after −0.6%)

Output bounced back in the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (+1.7%) and in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (+1.6%). Conversely, it declined in the manufacture of electrical equipment (−0.6%).

Output went up again in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.7% after +0.3%)

Output increased again in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.7% after +0.3%), in particular in the manufacture of beverages.
