In the first quarter of 2015, producer prices of services sold to French businesses were almost unchanged as in the last quarter (–0.1% following 0,0%), but the movements by products were contrasted.

In the first quarter of 2015, producer prices of services sold to French businesses were almost unchanged as in the last quarter (–0.1% following 0,0%), but the movements by products were contrasted.

Overall stability in prices for transportation and storage services and information and communication services

Prices for sea and coastal water freight transport services declined significantly (–12.8%) for the third quarter in a row. Prices for freight road transport services also fell (–1.0% following –0.7%). Conversely, prices for freight air transport services rose anew (+1.7% following +1.0%). In particular, prices for postal and courier services advanced strongly (+7.0% following +0.1%) driven by a readjustment of the rates. The seasonal decline in prices for advertising spaces affected prices for media representation services (–3.4% following +12.0%) and radio broadcasting services (–8.1% following +10.9%) while prices for television broadcasting services continued to rise (+5.1% following +19.5%). Prices for IT dipped slightly (–0.3% following +0.2%).

Prices for real estate services were almost unchanged (–0.1% following +0.6%).

Decline in prices for profesional, scientific and technical services (–0.3%), and administrative and support services (–0.2%)

Prices for engineering services dropped (–0.6% following +0.2%). Prices for legal and accounting services kept on rising (+0.4% following +0.9%), especially for legal services (+1.1%).

As in the last quarter, prices for rental and leasing services fell (–0.3% following –0.5%).

SPPI, production sold to households in France

Producer price of services sold to households in France moved up (+0.6% following –1.8%), most notably prices for accomodation and food services (+1.1%) which increased during the winter holidays.

SPPI, production sold on foreign markets

Producer prices of services sold on foreign markets continued to decline (–0.7% following –0.6%). As in the previous quarter, prices for transportation and storage services fell significantly (–3.2% following –2.6%), mainly due to the decline in prices for sea and coastal water freight transport services (–6.6% following –1.4%) and the seasonal decline in prices for passenger air transport services (–5.4%). Conversely, prices for licensing services advanced strongly (+5.8% following +1.8%) due to the depreciation of the euro (about –10% over this quarter against the dollar).

SPPI (all markets)

On all markets, services producer prices remained steady. Year–over–year, they were on the rise (+0.5%).
