Warning: Since December 19, 2014, new provisions defined by the Pinel law of 18 June 2014 apply to self-managed enterprises, now called micro-enterprises instead of “auto-entreprises”. This new denomination is used from December 2014 business start-ups data onward.

This regime of micro-enterprise must be distinguished from the category of microenterprises defined under Article 51 of the law on the modernization of the economy (LME) and specified by Decree No. 2008-1354.

In December 2014, the number of business start-ups including self-managed micro-enterprises seasonally and working-day adjusted (sa-wda) increased for the third consecutive month (+1.5% compared to November).

+2.3% year-on-year (quarterly basis)

The amount of births added up in the 2014 last quarter went up compared to the same quarter one year before (+2.3%) for all entreprises. This increase was especially driven by companies (+4.1%).

The sector that most contributed1 to that growth was transportation.
