In April 2015, output fell back in the manufacturing industry (–1.0%, after +0.5% in March) as well as in the industry as a whole (–0.9% after 0.0%).

The commentary shows variations of subsections by decreasing contribution. The contribution of a subsection depends on the extent of the change and on its weight.
In April 2015, output fell back in the manufacturing industry (–1.0%, after +0.5% in March) as well as in the industry as a whole (–0.9% after 0.0%).
Manufacturing output rose over the last three months (+0.8%)
Over the last three months, output rose in the manufacturing sector (+0.8% q-o-q) as well as in the industry as a whole (+0.9% q-o-q).
Output improved in almost every sectors: in the manufacture of transport equipment (+3.7%), in mining, quarrying, energy and water supply (+1.4%), in other manufacturing (+0.4%), in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+6.9%) and in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.6%).
Conversely, output declined in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment; machine equipment (–0.6%).
Over the year, manufacturing output increased slightly (+0.2%)
Manufacturing output of the last three months increased slightly compared to the same months of 2014 (+0.2% y-o-y). For that same period, overall industrial output went up more sharply (+1.1% y-o-y).
Output increased sharply in mining, quarrying, energy and water supply (+4.8%), in the manufacture of transport equipment (+3.1%), and even more markedly in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+14.2%). Output was virtually stable in other manufacturing (+0.1%).
On the other hand, output went down in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment (–2.1%) and to a lesser extent in the manufacture of food products and beverages (–0.6%).

In April 2015, output declined significantly in the manufacture of transport equipment (–3.3%)
Output fell again, but more strongly, in the manufacture of other transport equipment (–5.0% after –0.2%) in particular in air and spacecraft related machinery and declined more moderately in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (–1.4% after +2.2%).
It went down in other manufacturing (–0.6%)
Output went down in particular in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (–0.6%), in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (–1.4%), in other manufacturing; repair and installation of machinery and equipment (–0.8%) and in the manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel and leather (–2.6%).
Output tumbled in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (–10.8%)
Output tumbled in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (–10.8% after +7.0%) due to a temporary shutdown of a refinery.
Output declined in mining and quarrying; energy; water supply; waste management (–0.6%)
Output declined in the electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply (–1.5%), while it went up in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation (+3.8%) and in mining and quarrying (+2.7%).
Conversely, output increased slightly in electrical and electronic equipment; machine equipment (+0.2%)
Output increased again in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (+1.0% after +1.3%) and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (+0.7% after +0.2%) but went down in the manufacture of electrical equipment (–1.6% after –0.5%).
