According to the business leaders interviewed in August 2012, the situation in the retail trade and in the trade and repair of motor vehicles remains unfavourable: the synthetic indicator increases by 2 points, but is still clearly under its long-term average.
There are less business leaders than last month declaring a drop of their past sales, as much in retail trade as in motor vehicles. Therefore expected sales and ordering intentions remain dull, each of the two balances staying below its average.
General business outlook equally stabilise at a low level, sign that the retailers remain pessimistic about the economic situation in the trade sector.
