In March 2014, the number of business start-ups including self-managed enterprises seasonally and working-day adjusted data (sa-wda) slipped compared to February: ( -1.5%) and (-0.9%) for business start-ups excluding self-managed enterprises.

The amount of entries added up in the last quarter increased compared to the same quarter one year before (+1.9%).
The sectors that most contributed to that rise were wholesale and retail trade, transport, accommodation and food and beverage service activities and business support activities.

During the last twelve months, the number of business start-ups remained steady (-0.1%) year-on-year.
More than one creation out of two is a self-managed enterprise
In March 2014, 51% businesses sets up over the last twelve months were self-managed enterprises.
