In December 2013, the sales volume increased in household services (+2.3%) and in trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+1.2%). On the contrary, it decreased in retail trade, except for motor vehicles and motorcycles (–0.6%) and in accommodation and food services activities (–0.3%).
Every index in this issue is in volume, seasonally and working-day adjusted (SA-WDA).
In December 2013, the sales volume increased in household services (+2.3%) and in trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+1.2%). On the contrary, it decreased in retail trade, except for motor vehicles and motorcycles (–0.6%) and in accommodation and food services activities (–0.3%).
Over the last three months (q-o-q), the sales volume flattened in retail trade, except for motor vehicles and motorcycles (0.0%) and in trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.2%). However, it declined slightly household services (–0.6%) and to a lesser extent in accommodation and food service activities (–0.3%).
Over the year (y-o-y), the sales volume increased in the retail trade except for motor vehicles and motorcycles (+1.8%) and in a less sustained pace in trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.4%). On the opposite, it plunged in accommodation and food services activities (–2.7%). It declined in household services (–1.3%.).

In December 2013, the sales volume in the retail trade is expected to rise by +1.2%.
Revisions
The change in November has been reviewed by +0.5 point in retail trade except for motor vehicles and motorcycle, by +0.3 point in trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles and by +0.1 point in accomodation and food service activities. For the same month, the variation in household services was unchanged.
