In July 2013, the business climate in manufacturing industryimproves anew Monthly business survey (goods-producing industries) - July 2013

According to the business leaders questioned in July 2013, the industrial economic situation improves anew. The synthetic indicator increases by two points, compared with the previous month.

The turning point indicator swings to the favorable area, indicating a cyclical improvement.

The balance of opinion about the past activity increases compared with the previous month but remains below its long-terme average.

On the other hand, the balance of opinion about the production outlook of business leaders is nearly steady and remains near its long-term average.

While export order books decreased slightly, total order books improved. Nevertheless, global and export order books are still considered as markedly low.

In spite of a new increase in July, the general production outlook, which represents business leaders’ opinion on French industry as a whole, remains at a very low level.

Finally, stocks of finished products are nearly steady and are rated as slightly below their normal level.
