In April 2014, the number of business start-ups including self-managed enterprises seasonally and working-day adjusted data (sa-wda) rose compared to March: +2.5% and +3.0% for business start-ups excluding self-managed enterprises.

+2.3% year-on-year (quarterly basis)
The amount of entries added up in the last three months increased compared to the same months one year before (+2.3%).
The sectors that most contributed to that rise were wholesale and retail trade, transport, accommodation and food and beverage service activities and business support activities.
Stabilization year-on-year (twelve months basis)
During the last twelve months, the number of business start-ups remained steady year-on-year.
More than one creation out of two is a self-managed enterprise
In April 2014, 50.8% businesses sets up over the last twelve months were self-managed enterprises.
