According to the business leaders questioned in May 2011, the economic situation in the retail trade and in the trade and repair of motor vehicles remains stable: the synthetic indicator has stayed at the same level for three surveys. It is still above its long-term average.

Recent sales have not much changed. But if they have clearly progressed in non-specialised retail trade, they have decreased in motor vehicle trade.

Expected sales and ordering intentions decline. Overall economic expectations remain stable, over their long term average: retailers’opinion is still rather optimistic about the economic situation in the trade sector.

In retail trade, the balances of opinion corresponding to past and expected prices stabilize at a high level.
