In March 2011, the turnover jumped in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+4.0%), and slightly increased in households services (+0.4%). Conversely, it declined in the retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–0.5%) and in accommodation and food service activities (–0.3%).
Every index in this issue is in volume, seasonally and working-day adjusted.
In March 2011, the turnover jumped in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+4.0%), and slightly increased in households services (+0.4%). Conversely, it declined in the retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–0.5%) and in accommodation and food service activities (–0.3%).

Quarter on quarter (q-o-q), the turnover rose in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+4.4%), and, to a lesser extent, in accommodation and food service activities (+1.6%), in the “retail trade…” (+1.3%) and in household services (+1.3%).
Year on year (y-o-y), the turnover grew in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+7.1%), in the “retail trade…” (+5.0%), in accommodation and food services activities (+2.3%) and in households services (+2.1%).
According to our estimate, the turnover in the “retail trade…” is expected to pick up in April 2011 (+1.3%).
The SA-WDA evolution in February has been revised by –1.4 point in the “retail trade...”. The increase, initially announced at +1.9 %, has been corrected at +0.5 % : the raw series of the sectors hypermarkets and retail sale of information and communication equipment in specialised stores have strongly been corrected. In the same period, the SA-WDA evolution has been revised by +0.2 point in accommodation and food service activities and by –0.1 point in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles. The turnover’s variation has been confirmed in households services.
