Manufacturing industry
According to the business leaders questioned in May 2011, the situation in industry deteriorated: the business climate indicator decreases by two points, but stays above its long-term average.
The turning point indicator decreases and goes down to the unfavorable area from now on.
Business leaders consider that their past activity has slowed down, but the balance of opinion remains above its long-term average nevertheless. Stocks of finished products are still regarded as below to the normal. Total order books decrease just a little, but are rated as stronger. Export order books stay considered as heavy.
The activity of next months would slow down anew: the personal perspectives of production decreases again. The general production outlook, which represents business leaders’ opinion on French industry as a whole, deteriorates too.
